Registration for UTME 2022 may start a little late due to forces beyond our control - JAMB

JAMB has announced that pre-exam activities, including registering for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Exam, will come a little late due to forces beyond our control. This was revealed by the spokesman Dr. Fabian Benjamin in an interview in Abuja.

The council also defended its decision to use National Identification Numbers in the registration process.

Fabian said: “The introduction of the NIN by the board when registering the UTME in 2021 is a game changer in the fight against identity theft and other inspection violations. It should be noted that the decision to adopt an NIN was a very difficult one given the various challenges and opposition from many political parties.

“However, given the many benefits of implementing the NIN, the Board made an unpopular but fruitful decision, knowing that any deviation from the norm would be more common with initial rejection, and so would Unwavering in choosing which approach to take.”

He added that the board is ready to do whatever it takes to not only meet the schedule but also make the UTME registration and verification the best in 2022.
