DoD SMART Scholarship requirements 2022
See the qualification criteria below to see if you qualify for this once in a lifetime opportunity. All applicants must meet the following requirements:
- You must be a citizen of the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand or United Kingdom at the time of application.
- By August 1, 2022 you must be 18 years old.
- Opportunity to undertake at least one summer internship (for long-term scholarship holders only).
- Application for at least one year of study financing before graduation (starting with the start of your studies);
- willingly to work in the Department of Defense after graduation.
- Current student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Completed a technical bachelor’s or master’s degree in one of the 21 MINT fields listed above.
- Be able to provide 2021 college transcripts from a regionally accredited American college or university OR continue higher education at a regionally accredited institution or university in the United States.
- To be eligible for the scholarship, members of active military service must be released on final leave either on or before August 1, 2022. Members of the Reserve and National Guard are eligible to apply. Current ROTC members who have committed to serve in the military in the future are not eligible to enlist.
