Brief history about Nnamdi Azikiwe University Nigeria UNIZIK

Nnamdi Azikiwe University Nigeria or UNIZIK is one of the 44 federal universities in Nigeria. The university was founded in 1991 when the old state of Anambra was split into the states of Anambra and Enugu. The non-existent Akwa Campus and Nnewi Campus of Anambra State University of Technology (ASUTECH) were converted into Nnamdi Azikiwe University by the Anambra State Government. In 1992, the federal government took over the university and made it a federal university. Hence, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria has been a federal university ever since. The university has four campuses located in Awka, Agulu, Ifite Ogwari and Nnewi. Nnamdi Azikiwe University offers many undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The university also offers extra-work courses.
