18 153 Candidates Struggling to Enter Unilorin for the 2024/2025 academic session

A total of 18,153 candidates took the Post UTME exam at the University of Ilorin for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The university announced the exams, which was taken place between December 13 and 16, in a bulletin published in Unilorin on Monday.

“Out of the 28,048 candidates who scored 180 or more on this year’s JAMB exam and made the University of Ilorin their first choice, 18,639 applied for pre-screening.

“Of this number, only 18,153 actually passed the UTME test,”

Prof. Umar Gunu, head of Unilorin’s admissions committee and dean of the management faculty, stated that university admissions are only based on performance.

Gunu said that all candidates who took part in the exercise received the results on the same day.

RECOMMENDED: Unilorin department aggregate cut-off marks for 2024/2025

“Candidates must do well in their JAMB examination, School Certificate examination and Post-UTME examination before being considered for admission.

“The next stage is the compilation phase, where we will compare your results from the JAMB, O’Level and post-UTME tests.

“The result from JAMB will be 50 percent of the total; O’Level is 20%, while Post-UTME is 30%. That will give us 100 per cent,” he said.

According to him, the aggregation will be used to determine eligibility based on the agreed cut-off marks.
