JAMB 2022: Link Your Email to JAMB Profile For Free [CBT CENTER]

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) directs all applicants who have registered for UTME and Direct Entry (DE) but do not have an email address linked to their profile to use a JAMB approved Computer Based Test (CBT) center without any delay as the process is totally free.

This was contained in a statement from the Board’s Head of public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin on Monday.

Benjamin said that when enrolling in UTME/DE for 2022, JAMB prohibited candidates from linking their email addresses to the registration portal.

Banning email addresses at this point, he said, was to prevent candidates from being taken advantage of by nefarious examination syndicates, whose agents roam around registration centers and pretend to offer candidates assistance in setting up their own email addresses for free. These fraudsters will later gain unauthorized access to candidate critical information.

“After completing the exam, it is very important for candidates to link their email address to their account to complete the registration process and to facilitate the printing of their results.

“All a candidate needs is to visit JAMB accredited CBT center to get the linkage done, after which the e-mail becomes part and parcel of the candidates’ completed profiles,” Benjamin said.

The necessary link between the email address and the relevant candidate’s profile, he said, should allow them to complete their profile and to check JAMB Result or print their JAMB results from their respective profiles once the linkage is established.

“It should be noted that the Board initially allowed candidates to connect via SMS from the comfort of their own home, but discontinued the process to further enhance the functionality of the process through wholesale automation of the platform,” he said.

Benjamin warns candidates not to share their email passwords with anyone, not even JAMB employees.

“As the board continues to rehabilitate its process, it will hold each candidate accountable for any breaches committed by scammers found using their passwords,” he said.

Benjamin also stressed that the board made the process not only free but also user-friendly, reaffirming its commitment to ending the rampant and unconscionable exploitation of candidates.
